Letter Senator John McCain

January 15, 2013
Dear Senator McCain:
Reported today, in the New York Times (see ref), is the notion that under the authority of an Executive Order, Mental Health records of Federal employees could be shared inter-Departmentally. Here is the gist of that idea, “…compelling federal agencies to improve sharing of mental health records and directing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct research on gun violence”. The goal is unclear, but as an Advocate for Military personnel, this is just more human experimentation, on people who cannot easily defend themselves. So, I ask you, isn’t it the U.S. Congress’ responsibility to defend the Military on such matters, and remind the Executive Branch, that it is out of line here?
